What is a cervical screening test?

A cervical screening test is a simple check that looks for changes in the cells of the cervix that could develop into cancer if left untreated.

For women and people with a cervix aged 25 or older, getting tested every five years is one of the best ways to protect your health. It is free for eligible people in Australia.
